Amsterdam Fashion Week Recap: Lyzard Wear

TFB Magazine closed out Amsterdam Fashion Week with a special full-circle moment: the runway debut of Lyzard Wear, designed by Lucas, who was previously highlighted in our Issue 02: The Accent Issue as Lyzard Hair.

Being invited to cover his show was not only an honor, but also a reminder of why TFB exists, to spotlight authentic talent, nurture relationships, and watch them grow into something extraordinary.

At TFB, we don’t use the word community as a buzzword. For us, community is about reciprocal support, shared growth, and genuine love for the creative journey. It’s about our contributors, collaborators, highlighted talent, readers, and partners all coming together to make this platform what it is. Covering Lucas’ runway was proof of this mission in action: a friend of the magazine turning his vision into reality, supported by a press team equally rooted in that same authenticity.

For this show, our TFB Amsterdam Press Team consisted of:

Together, they captured the essence of a runway that blurred the lines between fashion, art, and performance.

Inside the Collection: Lyzard’s Vision

Lucas describes the show as the result of “a very emotional process,” born from the unfolding of a dream he at first didn’t even know he was chasing. Originally imagined as 25 looks, the collection evolved into 15 powerful designs, each representing a figure in a future society at war, not with weapons, but with ideas, technology, and identity.

For Lucas, clothing is a uniform of self-definition:

“Your aesthetic choice defines you much more than your biological body… the outfit you wear is the uniform we wear to face life.”

Color and structure played a major role in the show. Voluminous silhouettes transformed thinness into power, while bold hues carried the emotional weight of the designer. Each garment was designed with balance in mind; tight where necessary and loose where comfort demanded, proving that avant-garde design can also be wearable.

The Emotional Core of the Show

One of the most moving moments for Lucas was the first rehearsal, when he finally saw all his garments together, on real bodies, in motion:

“That was one of the most emotional moments ever since I started this project… I actually got emotional, and one member of the team told me, ‘keep it together, you are wearing makeup.’”

The behind-the-scenes energy reflected the designer’s dedication to both his garments and his team. From ensuring models had proper training, food, and comfort, to collaborating with makeup artists and stylists to capture the right “energy,” Lucas demonstrated a holistic, human approach towards the creative direction of his show overall.

A Mission in Motion

Lyzard’s mission is rooted in handmade fashion, authenticity, and empowerment:

“My mission is making clothes that make people feel confident, fashionable, special, unique, important, and powerful.”

The runway opened with a poem that set the tone for the entire show, a reflection on freedom, identity, and the power of your aesthetic choice:

“We do not choose the body we are born into… True aesthetic choice; the attire you select, the way you style your hair and the tattoos that decorate your skin all reveal far more of the universe you carry inside. Freedom is not doing whatever you want; true freedom begins when you express who you are. Welcome to the debut fashion show of Lyzard SS26. Thank you for joining me in this celebration of fashion as art, the universal language we all share, because we all get dressed up every day. Enjoy the show.”

The TFB Perspective

At TFB, we cover fashion shows of all kinds, from international headliners to first-time showcases and indie designers; always with the same lens: inclusivity, sustainability, and authenticity.

Lyzard Wear’s debut embodies exactly why we do what we do: elevating voices that dare to merge vision with vulnerability, art with emotion, and fashion with lived experience.

We’re grateful to Lucas for inviting us into this moment, and to our Amsterdam Press Team for bringing it to life visually. This is only the beginning of Lyzard’s journey, and we’re honored to be part of it.

We encourage you to keep following Lyzard Wear, as Lucas carves out a future where fashion is both armor and art, and to explore the work of our Amsterdam Press Team: Maja Felczak (Maja's Archive) and Sesora Murakami ,whose eyes and lenses capture these moments in their truest form.
